If you are in a custody battle, be prepared!
Notify local law enforcement if a family member is suspected of plotting an abduction.
Prepare teachers, coaches, and your attorney that this is a risk.
If your child is old enough, explain to them what you expect.
Seize complete control over your child's whereabouts until the issue is resolved.
Attorneys are not always experts. Remember it is easier to apologize to a judge or your Ex-spouse than to retrieve your stolen child from an unreachable abductor.
Work with your attorney and the courts to keep physical custody of your child until you are sure the child will safe.
