Thursday, June 30, 2005 MILWAUKIE -- Clackamas County search and rescue crews along with dozens of volunteers looked Wednesday night and Thursday morning for a missing four-year-old boy in Milwaukie. Matel Zachery Sanchez was last seen at 3 p.m. Wednesday at his family's home at 6912 SE Daphne Court. He was described as Hispanic, 3-feet tall, and weighing about 45 pounds. Matel has brown hair and brown eyes, and was wearing black jeans, a black and grey t-shirt and brown sandals. At first, family members thought the child might have gone out with his grandmother. But when the grandmother returned home about 6:30 p.m., she said she knew nothing of the boy's whereabouts. The boy lives with his mother and grandmother. Milwaukie police officer Kevin Krebs said about 60 people were helping to search for Matal; they planned to continue the search effort throughout the night. There had been no reports of suspicious carachters in the neighborhood, Krebs said. The child's father does not live at the Milwaukie home, but he had been accounted for, according to Krebs. The father came to the home after being alerted to his son's disappearance.
